The chestnut tree is the king of the region, nevertheless a lot of other products reflect the diversity of the Ardèche Mountains area.

Five representative productions are labelled « Produit du Parc »: honey, all the chestnut based products, blueberry, mineral waters and the wine made from the ancient grape variety named Chatus.

La châtaigne

In the heart of the Cévennes or the Boutières, the chestnut growers play a role in preserving the typical landscapes of the Ardèche region and contribute to the economic development on the sloped areas. Whatever species they grow (Pourettes, Comballes, or other local species), each chestnut grower offers a range of chestnut-based specialities: jam, flour...

The Chatus wine

The Chatus, the most original « vin de garde » (wine to lay down) is spiced, robust, unique, like the men, the terraces and the cultivation which build its reputation.

Mineral waters

The natural mineral waters are both an exceptional natural resource and a real cultural heritage and identity of the Ardèche. The mineral spring exploiters are aware of this and have developed a special knowledge respecting this resource, from the water harnessing to the bottling.

Blueberries

La myrtilleThe symbolic fruit of the Ardèche mountains, often associated with chestnuts, the wild blueberry will surprise you with its tasty, nutritional qualities.

100% natural, the wild blueberries are picked between July and September by farmers who have developed a wide range of products from this little fruit.

Honeys

Due to the many different landscapes of the Ardèche Mountains, honeys made in the region offer a wide variety of flavours, thanks to the typical flora found in the region (chestnut tree, fir tree, acacia, prairie flowers...).

Comment attribue-t-on la marque Valeurs Parc ?

La marque Valeurs Parc est une marque nationale, gérée par la fédération des Parcs naturels régionaux de France, et déclinée localement dans les Monts d'Ardèche. Pour l'obtenir, il faut remplir les critères d'un cahier des charges sélectif basé sur la qualité de l'accueil, le lien au territoire, la valorisation des produits locaux, l'intégration dans le paysage et la préservation de l'environnement... Les bénéficiaires de la marque sont audités tous les cinq ans afin de s'assurer du respect des critères et de la qualité des prestations proposées.

Chaque bénéficiaire de cette marque, qu'il soit professionnel du tourisme ou producteur, est donc un parfait « ambassadeur » du Parc et de son projet de territoire.
